U.S. presidential elections are fast approaching, and Super Tuesday’s primary elections will be one of the most important dates in the 2020 election calendar.

We invite you to Amcham’s briefing on primary election results at 8:30 AM on March 4th. Scott E. Buchanan, Visiting Fulbright Bicentennial Professor of American Studies at the University of Helsinki will kick us off with an introduction to the results. Tuuli Koivu, Chief Economist at Nordea, will follow with a brief economic update. Our experts will be joined by Mike Klyszeiko, Director of Launchpad USA at Amcham Finland for a panel discussion about the U.S. elections, their implications for trade and business, and how a democratic president may or may not alter the future of international business policy.

This year’s Democratic Party primary elections have been called some of the most unpredictable in decades. There are currently multiple candidates with strong support, but no one is an obvious front runner. Super Tuesday marks changes in both the dynamics of the race and candidate strategies, as more delegates to the presidential nominating conventions can be won on Super Tuesday than on any other single day. From this session you will get insight on which issues to watch for this election as well as U.S. election-related political and economic updates.

This morning session is free-of-charge and a light breakfast and coffee will be served.
