Business and investment opportunities – just like Amcham – are borderless. For investors, the Nordic countries are often seen as one.

That’s why we continue to build ties with our neighboring chambers. Since March, members of AmCham Estonia have been able to access our flagship program Launchpad USA.

We catch up with program director Mike Klyszeiko and AmCham Estonia Executive Director Daria Sivovol to find out the latest.

Q. Mike, can you tell me about the new faces that have recently joined?

We’ve had a lot of interest in the program on both sides of the Atlantic. Nine new Finnish companies and six Estonian companies have joined since the start of this year. It’s a mix of hot startups through to well-established companies offering world-class products and services.

Q. Daria, how has the interest in the program been for Estonian companies?

We are extremely excited to see this take off. Not only have members like TransferWise, ChecktoCashup, DigiFlak and Datel, embraced the opportunity, but we’ve attracted new members to the community too.

Q. Mike, what are the plans for the near future?

We are becoming more active on an international level, with business and training sessions in New York City, Helsinki and Tallinn. The opportunities continue to grow alongside the scope of companies joining the program. With our NYC office in full swing, we are aggressively building our network of companies interested in the Nordic business and investment scene.

Q. Daria, how does the collaboration benefit AmCham Estonia?

World class IT infrastructure, low corruption and political stability, Estonia also boasts high cyber security, no corporate income tax on reinvested profits, and the lowest public debts in the EU.

There are many success stories to share with the world. Collaborating with Amcham Finland enables us to share our story and bring attention to this dynamic region.

Q. Mike, what’s been the biggest surprise for you?

The ambition level is incredibly high. Entrepreneurs and executives are willing to take more risks. They are looking to move fast and take bold steps. It’s fun to engage with this group!
