Making a business case for investment in an international setting is always tough. When analyzing the situation, there are a myriad of aspects to take into account, not only the simple facts and figures. A country’s big picture – its holistic strengths, weaknesses and ecosystems – are often leveraged when the final call is made.

There are 150 foreign-owned Finnish companies represented in Amcham Finland’s Global Investor’s Program, each of which deals with the question, ‘how do we present Finland as the best business case?’ when internal decisions for investments are made.

We’re pleased to welcome Maarit Palo, Executive of Governmental Affairs at IBM Finland, to join us and share the success story of how IBM Watson Health Center came to Finland.

What were the key milestones in the years of preparation? What did it take to sell Finland successfully? What are the Finnish Health Sector’s winning arguments for an international audience? What are the key repeatable or avoidable takeaways?
