Kirsi Kannaste, Partner at Krogerus and international arbitration expert, will present some of the main takeaways from Arbitration Day.

Join Amcham’s Legal Committee for a spring lunch at Krogerus on Friday, May 24. Kirsi Kannaste, Partner at Krogerus and international arbitration expert, will present us with take-aways from Arbitration Day. Come catch up on the state of arbitration in Finland and discuss which steps the next government should take to enhance Finland’s role and reputation within international conflict-solving.

Our new government will need to consider the outgoing government’s plan for renewing the Finnish Arbitration Act. The Ministry of Justice is currently assessing the scope of reform, which means there’s an opportunity to be seized –policymakers are listening.

The current version of the law stems from 1992, so it’s high time to refine it. Refining the law may lead to quicker conflict resolution and greater predictability, which would enhance Finland’s attractiveness for international arbitration. Based on the Legal Committee discussion, Amcham will prepare actionable policy recommendations on behalf of you, our members.
