Air France and KLM
Air France is a major player in the air transport industry. As of the summer of 2022, the company now flies to nearly 200 destinations worldwide. And with its 38,000 employees, it is committed to providing its customers with the best possible service and taking elegance to new heights.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines was founded in 1919, making it the world’s oldest airline still operating under its original name. Via a vast network of 92 European cities and 70 intercontinental destinations, KLM offers direct services to key economic centres all over the world.
In 2004, Air France and KLM merged to form AIR FRANCE KLM. The merger produced the strongest European airline group based on two powerful brands and hubs – Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and Paris Charles de Gaulle. Retaining its own identity, the group focuses on three core businesses: passenger transport, cargo and aircraft maintenance.
Air France and KLM are members in the airline alliance SkyTeam, which offers passengers even more possibilities, jointly serving 1,063 destinations in 173 countries. Besides that, Air France and KLM has a unique joint venture agreement on trans-Atlantic routes with its close partners Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic. The agreement provides customers with the benefits of a vast route network offering more frequencies, competitive fares and harmonized services across the Atlantic. Under the terms of this agreement, the partners jointly operate their trans-Atlantic routes, thereby sharing revenues and costs.
Air France and KLM are for many years holding a very strong position in the north Europe region and is currently serving 17 gateways spread over Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, (three destinations being seasonal) with daily flights to and from Paris and/or Amsterdam. The Baltic countries are connected too thanks to a codeshare agreement with Air Baltic. In addition, during peak season, our partner Delta Air Lines also serve Copenhagen and Stockholm with a direct flight to New York JFK.
