We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy informs you of our privacy practices for www.amcham.fi, digital forms, as well as Amcham Finland’s member registry. Amcham Finland Ry is a registered non-profit association organized under the laws of Finland. What data do we collect?

We collect and process information concerning the contact persons of member companies as well as registered event attendees and persons who request material via opt-in forms. We only collect information that you voluntarily give us via email, directly through the website, through an event registration form, an opt-in form, or that which your employer has provided us with. The information we process may include your contact information, such as your name, telephone, job title, phone number and/or email address and other related information that you send to us.

How do we collect your data?

You or your employer directly provides Amcham Finland with the data we collect. We collect data and process data when you:

  • Register online for our events and services
  • Voluntarily complete a survey
  • Register to receive any of our newsletters or email communications
  • Register to receive content, such as downloadable reports and guides
  • Use or view our website

How will we use your data?

Amcham Finland collects your data so that we can use the information to respond to your questions and inquiries. We collect data to send you relevant content and promotional messaging. We also collect information that is shared with event and project collaborators, such as Amcham Finland member companies or Finnish institutions, on a case-by-case basis. We may contact you in the future via email, unless you ask us not to.

We process your personal data if you are a contact person of an Amcham member company or if it is provided by your employer that is an Amcham member company. Amcham Finland has a legitimate interest in processing such data.

How do we store your data?

Amcham Finland securely stores your data in our Microsoft Dynamics CRM System for a maximum of two years. Your data will be processed by Amcham staff members in the EU. We will not disclose personal data to third parties unless they are event or project partners, but we may transfer your data to our service partners and use it for research purposes benefiting the membership. Such transfers will be carried out in compliance with applicable laws and necessary safeguards. We oblige such third parties to keep the transferred personal data confidential and secure.

Marketing

Amcham Finland would like to send you information about events and services of ours that we think you might be interested in.

If you have agreed to receive marketing, you may always opt out later. You have the right at any time to stop Amcham from contacting you for marketing purposes.

What are your data protection rights?

Amcham Finland would like to make sure you are fully aware of all of your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access – You have the right to request us for copies of your personal data.

The right to rectification – You have the right to request that Amcham Finland correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request Amcham Finland to complete information you believe is incomplete.
