General Ralston is a retired four-star General in the United States Air Force. Among other prestigious roles, he has served as the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (1996-2000) and as Commander of the U.S. European Command, as well as the 17th Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) of NATO Allied Command Operations (2000-2003).

During an intimate evening of sharing unique insights and conversation with attendees, General Ralston will provide his take on the changing landscape of global security policy and the future of national defense capabilities. Charly Salonius-Pasternak, Senior Researcher at the Finnish Institute for International Affairs, will moderate a Q&A interview with General Ralston. The floor will then be opened for questions and discussion. This is a unique opportunity to explore topical issues with a decorated military leader with significant international experience.

Our fireside chats are by invitation only and operate under Chatham house rules. The invitation list for this session includes a mix of interested public-sector players and Amcham member company representatives. General Ralston’s visit to Finland is enabled by Lockheed Martin and Pratt & Whitney. This fireside chat is produced by Amcham Finland, an independent, member-funded business association supporting transatlantic business and a healthy operating environment in Finland.
