o reach Finland’s RDI goal of hitting 4% of GDP Finnish Government by 2030, the public and private sector must take action now. Building globally unique ecosystems takes time and effort, and competition to attract life science investments is fierce.Join us at the U.S. Embassy Helsinki for breakfast on Tuesday 12 December from 9.00–11.00 AM (arrive at 8.45 for security) for an event engaging both the public and private sector on key topics relevant to the future of innovation and healthcare in this country. This is a conversation about Finland, for Finland.Laura Rissanen, State Secretary to the Minister of Social Security at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, will open our discussion. Then two panels of experts will tackle the two biggest questions in relation to reaching the 4% goal: “How can we execute the plans laid out in the government program effectively and as a priority?” and “How do we nurture a globally competitive ecosystem in Finland that attracts investments?”Panelists include:

  • Päivi Sillanaukee, Director General at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health
  • Anu Wartiovaara, Academy Professor at Helsinki University
  • Ville Väyrynen, Member of Parliament and Member of Social and Health Affairs Committee
  • Ilona Lundström, Director General at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment
  • Eeva Salminen, Senior Director at Business Finland
