The Inflation Reduction Act - Concern or Opportunity? With KPMG

Monday, March 6, 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM (EET)

Event Details

By member and stakeholder request, the Nordic AmChams will host a compact one-hour briefing and Q&A on President Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 (H.R: 5376) – the budget reconciliation legislation that includes significant law changes relating to tax, climate change, energy, and health care. These laws provide billions of dollars to confront the climate crisis and strengthen critical infrastructure.

This briefing will discuss the implementation of the act, how state and local governments and organizations are accessing funds, and address some of the more practical concerns that Nordic companies may have. We’ll also highlight opportunities, and discuss what Nordic companies can do to tap into funding and be part of this eight billion dollar opportunity. Our expert speaker is Hannah Hawkins, Principal, in KPMG’S Washington D.C. tax office. Prior to joining KPMG, Ms. Hawkins served as Deputy Tax Legislative Counsel in the Treasury’s Office of Tax Policy and on legislation that led to the I.R.A.

Joining Hannah would be Richard Marcos, Global Leader of KPMG’s Credits & Incentives Network as well as KPMG’s US National Tax Credits practice. He is a Principal in KPMG’s US Accounting Methods and Credits (AMCS) Practice and is resident in the San Diego office. Richard also works closely with KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice to research and determine firm positions on new and unclear areas of tax law.
