Thursday, November 8, 8:30 – 10:30 AM
UPM Biofore House
Alvar Aallon Katu 1, Helsinki
This is a Members Only event
November 6 is the day Americans will elect members for each of the 435 House seats and 34 of the 100 Senate seats, both being chambers that comprise the United States Congress. Republicans currently control the White House and Congress. The upcoming elections may change that, thereby creating a new dynamic within the government.
Under the current administration, transatlantic trade has been under tremendous pressure. Implications remain unclear in the event democrats take over Congress or if control remains in the same hands.
Joseph P. Quinlan, Senior Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations of Johns Hopkins University, will discuss what these election results mean for transatlantic trade in Europe and Finland, as well as the general economy.
Susan Danger, CEO of AmCham EU, will provide commentary on what elections results mean for transatlantic trade from a European perspective.
A light breakfast will be served.
