Finland’s National Broadcasting Company, Yle, is on a mission to get women more involved in the news. Women have historically not been as visible as their male peers providing expert views for TV news outlets, and we are inviting you to spend a morning at Yle to highlight the need for gender diversity in a male-dominated area.
This behind-the-scenes event will include a tour of the facility and an opportunity to meet women in key roles at Yle. Elina Ravantti, Head of Yle Journalism Academy, and Riikka Venäläinen, Editor in Chief, Yle News and Current Affairs will host you and introduce you to others on the team:
- Paula Pokkinen, Head of Politics Desk
- Riitta Pihlajamäki, Head of Current Affairs
- Anna Forth, Head of Content and Journalistic Development, Yle Swedish division
- Minna Asikainen, Head of Editorial Desk
After introductions and presentations about putting ideas into practice, you’ll have a chance to ask questions and share your own experiences with your network.
